Engine 611

Engine 611 is a 2003 Frieghtliner FL 70 with 325 bhp Mercedes motor.  This unit is one of the last built by Superior Fire Equipment of Red Deer before the take over by E-One.  Engine 611 was purchased by the Town of Wembley in 2004 replacing a 1967 Thibault Pumper.  With its 5000 lpm Waterous Pump, Engine 611 was the biggest pumper in the County of Grande Prairie No.1 up until 2009.  With the addition of a ground monitor and preconnected attack lines this unit is a very capable front line piece of apparatus carrying 4000L of water.

 

Rescue 611

Rescue 611 is a 2000 Frieghtliner FL 60 with a custom body by Wheeled Coach.  This unit was originally owned and operated by the Orlando Florida Fire Department in Fire Hall #11.  The Wembley Fire Department purchased this unit in the fall of 2007.  The primary roll of this unit is the transportation of personnel and rescue equipment including the "Jaws of Life".  Other roles that this unit performs are rehabilitation and command.  In rehabilitation our medical staff sees to the needs of our fire and rescue personnel by monitoring of vitals and hydration.  In a command role the incident commander can manage strategy and assets for tactical deployment at an incident from this unit.

 

Squad 611

Squad 611 is the newest addition to the town's fleet and is our medical co response unit, it is a four wheel drive 2010 Ford Expedition Max. This unit was purchase solely through the fire departments fund raising efforts, and Alberta Lottery Fund. Its primary duties are, carrying our medical co responders, and equipment to medical calls in the Town of Wembley, and the County response area.

 

Car 611

Car 611 aka FM1(Fire Medical) is our retired medical co-response unit and is a 1985 GMC Safari Van purchased by the Wembley Fire Department in 2002.  Some modifications were made with the help of some donated labor and expertise this van was converted into the medical unit that was used by the department until the purchase of Squad 611 in March of 2010.  Now its duties are as a support vehicle, transporting personel and equipment to and from scenes as wall as transporting members to out of town training courses and meetings.

Engine 601

Engine 601 is a 1998 Ford F-Series with a 429 gas motor powering a 3000 lpm Waterous Pump.  This truck also comes equipped with a Robwen foam system attached to the two preconnected attack lines.  Carrying 4000L of water, this unit is owned by the County of Grande Prairie No.1 and is supplied to us as part of a mutual aid agreement with the Town of Wembley.  This truck is primarily used as a first out fire response to the County of Grande Prairei No.1 rural areas.
